Here the client asked for a weed filled lawn to be removed and a new lawn to be laid. The second terrace to merge with the first and a new deck to be created. To lower costs of waste as the access to the property was difficult, up hills with steps making additional topsoil and waste removals near enough impossible, we built up other areas and flower beds with soil.
The back border lacked structure and height, so we added additional planting for different times of the year. For winter interest and additional height, the tree prunus autumnantalis was added with a background of shrubs such as aucuba japonica, camellia japonica, ceanothus and photinia x fraserii. This will green up the harsh fencing and frame the flowering perennials in summer.
